The Network Administrator will work as a lead team member in installation and maintenance of all MBHS infrastructure hardware and software. The infrastructure components include but are not limited to WAN, LAN, core network equipment, routers, switches, software, wireless, firewalls, VPN, VOIP, network patching and monitoring. The Network Administrator will support other areas of technical services with complex troubleshooting and problem solving. Ensures adherence to departmental policies, procedures and best practices. Position will work closely with all areas of IS to maintain computer system availability and security throughout the organization. The Network Administrator is responsible for the support of all network infrastructure and for the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support and optimization of all network resources. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree or combined education and experience in lieu of degree. Master's degree preferred.
Experience: If Bachelor's prepared, one year experience or some college coursework with two years experience. Knowledge in information technology hardware and software related to network infrastructure, routing, switching, firewall and wireless. One year healthcare IT experience preferred.
License/Certification/Registries: One or more of the following certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, CISSP, Net+, A+, CCT, CCENT, or the Epic 3rd Party Skills Assessment. Two or more of the following certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, CISSP, Net+, CCT, CCENT, or the Epic 3rd Party Skills Assessment preferred.
Skills: Must be expert in at least 3 of the following areas:
Expertise and/or certification in network infrastructure (Cisco)
Working knowledge of network client devices (Windows desktops and servers)
Expertise of virtualization technologies (VMWare, VMView)
Working knowledge of network topologies and implementations (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
Working knowledge of WAN, LAN, wireless, VPN administration
Technical expertise in healthcare environment with working knowledge of back-end infrastructure technologies and principles (network, virtual, disaster recovery and security).
