Job Description

Delivers supplies and equipment to the user departments in an efficient and timely manner.Receives and fills all supply requisitions, from departments, that are not replenished by the PAR System.Checks board daily for "hot" items that require priority delivery, i;e; overnight orders needed in Surgery.Delivers refrigerated items immediately upon receipt; i.e. lab supplies that require refrigeration.Can comprehend units of measure; i.e. difference between each, box, pallet, case, etc. Maintains all areas of materials storage in a neat and organized manner. All supplies are taken out of the original shipping box for storage.Restocks supply shelves utilizing proper rotation, organization, identification, documentation and proper location of stock items.Properly handles and stores sterile items to maintain sterility.Maintains all equipment utilized in transporting supplies in a manner that ensures reliable and safe operation.Notifies the Material Management Director when supplies or special orders are needed.Requires minimal supervision in performance of job duties.Understands how to prioritize responsibilities to ensure completion of duties.Is a self-starter; initiates the meeting of responsibilities without prompting.Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.Communicates clearly and appropriately to the Materials Management Director and co-workers.Accepts other duties as requested.Understands and applies all receiving policies related to the SMART system.Receives non-stock and stock items in the SMART system in a timely manner as they arrive at the facility.Processes the receiving documentation documents accurately & timely. Verifies information on the packing slips accurately against the PO information. Enters the receipt transaction into SMART accurately. Obtains appropriate department signatures on all delivery tickets or provides a reasonable explanation.Notes on the delivery ticket if there was no packing slip with the product.Returns all delivery tickets and packing slips back to the appropriate place in department and attaches to the PO. Files completed paperwork accurately and timely. Processes returned goods accurately and timely.

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent.
Prefer the following:
Employee have minimal knowledge of medical terminology.
Employee have at least 6 months prior hospital work.
Basic computer knowledge with ability to learn new programs, specifically automated receiving processes.
Comprehends units of measure; i.e. each, case, box, pallet, etc.
