To manage application software, installation, implementation, upgrades and on-going support ensuring appropriate security settings and backup procedures, assisting in development and implementation of interfaces and outputs. To understand business and financial issues and objectives of application systems and processes for departments supported. To maximize the effective use of applications systems supported. Performs all other duties as assigned
Education: Associates degree in an information technology related field or business related field for applications or departments supported. Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
Experience: Two years of job related experience in an information technology support role. Knowledge of trends in information systems as well as healthcare processes. Three to five years in an information technology support role for implementations, upgrades and maintenance activities preferred. One to two years Hospital IS experience preferred. Experience with McKesson applications a plus.
Skills: Basic Windows and TCP/IP networking , SQL Server, Oracle, or other relational database querying. Customer service, organizational skills, oral and written communication skills. Must be able to execute responsibilities in a dynamic, sometimes stressful environment with frequently changing priorities. Ability to work with patients, physicians, employees, and visitors in a friendly and cordial manner, in person or on the phone, promoting a positive image for the hospital. Ability to use MS Office Suite applications. Project management skills preferred.
