To perform routine clinic laboratory analyses; recognize problems, identify basic causes, and make corrections by using present strategies; correlate data based on knowledge of technical and instrumental conditions affecting test results; perform quality control procedures within predetermined parameters. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education: Associate Degree from CAHEA accreditted Medical Laboratory Technician program.
Experience: Associate Degree from CAHEA accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program. One year experience in a clinic setting preferred.
License/Certification/Registries: Current MLT certification or eligible for certification by a Nationally recognized agency such as ASCP, NCA, or equivalent. Generalist Certificiation is required within 2 years of employment.
Skills: Ability to perform routine lab procedures as applicable to clinic CLIA certificate. Type 45 wpm. Proficient in the use of various office equipment such as PC, multi line phone system, copier, facsimile, and printer. Word Perfect and Excel helpful. Competent in filing skills (alpha and numeric). Competency in medical procedural coding (CPT & ICD-9) preferred.
