Compassion and understanding of the elderly; desire to work with elderly with chronic disabilities; cheerful, pleasant demeanor; comfortable in role of companion to resident. Able to perform routine Nursing Assistant duties and works as a member of a team. Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions is required. Must be able to lift, push, or transfer as resident needs require. Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with the physical, mental and emotional stress of this position. Respects residents' rights and individual dignity of all residents. Certification or at least one (1) year of experience in Long Term Care is required.
